Microdermabrasion: The Gentle Resurfacing That Gives Instant Glow
Microdermabrasion is one of the simplest ways to give skin an instantly smoother, brighter surface — with zero downtime. How it works, who it suits, and how it fits into our customized facial.

If you are looking for a treatment that leaves skin instantly smoother and brighter — no needles, no acids, no downtime — microdermabrasion is one of the first candidates. At our Tallinn studio it is a natural part of the customized facial, used whenever your skin genuinely benefits from it.
What is microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion is mechanical resurfacing: a special tip glides over the skin, gently lifting away dead surface cells while a light vacuum cleans the surface and stimulates microcirculation. Unlike a chemical peel it uses no acids — which makes it a good option for skin that doesn’t get along with them.
What does it do for skin?
- Instantly smoother surface and more even tone — makeup sits better the same day.
- Glow — a layer of dead cells scatters light; removing it switches the skin back on.
- Better product absorption — serums work harder on freshly resurfaced skin.
- Softer texture for surface roughness, dry flaking and small congestion.
Who is it for — and who should skip it?
Microdermabrasion suits most skin types and is a great pre-event choice because there is no downtime. Caution applies with active acne, flaring rosacea and very thin, reactive skin — in those cases we choose a gentler alternative at the consultation, such as enzymatic exfoliation, which our facial also includes.
How it works inside our facial
Our customized facial always starts with a skin analysis. If your skin calls for mechanical exfoliation, microdermabrasion is part of the treatment — not an upsell or a separate booking, but one step of a whole: double cleansing, exfoliation, aqua facial, mask, serum and massage. You don’t have to choose the technique — we choose it for your skin.
Frequently asked questions
Does microdermabrasion hurt?
No — most people describe it as a light scratchy pressure, a bit like a cat’s tongue. Mild pinkness usually settles within an hour.
How often can it be done?
Typically every 4–6 weeks, giving skin time to renew. One session gives glow; a course changes texture more durably.
Microdermabrasion vs chemical peel — what’s the difference?
One is a mechanical route, the other a chemical route to a similar goal. Mechanical suits skin that acids irritate; chemical reaches deeper for certain concerns. More in our guide to peels.
To find out whether your skin would benefit, book a time — a skin analysis opens every treatment, and we pick the technique together, honestly and without pressure.
