The polynucleotide peel: anti-ageing without the downtime

Most peels do one thing: take the old layer off the surface and leave renewal to the skin. The Skin R³ peel does two at once — it resurfaces with MCA and supports repair with polynucleotides. The session is 60 minutes and costs €85.

What are polynucleotides?

Polynucleotides are fragments of DNA used in aesthetic medicine to support tissue repair. In the skin they help hold moisture, calm inflammation and encourage fibroblasts — the cells that make collagen.

The combination is logical: the acid opens the way and creates the renewal signal, and the polynucleotides support what happens next. That is why downtime is shorter than for a classic peel of comparable strength.

What result is realistic?

After one session the skin is more even in tone, smoother and better hydrated. Changes in fine lines and skin density come as a course — usually three to four sessions, three to four weeks apart.

It is not a replacement for fillers or botulinum toxin. It will not fill deep lines or lift slack skin. If anyone promises otherwise, be cautious — our own position is set out in anti-ageing without injections.

How long is the downtime?

Redness for a couple of hours, then mild dryness or light flaking for two or three days. Make-up is usually fine the next day. Planning it around a weekend is sensible, but you will not need time off work.

Who should avoid it?

Not during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or with active acne or inflammation, cold sores, or a course of isotretinoin. Avoid acids, retinol and self-tanning for 7 days, and sun exposure for two weeks beforehand.
