Aqua Facial vs HydraFacial: The Difference, and What Your Skin Actually Gets
HydraFacial is a brand; the aqua facial is the technique — and most of the promised result comes from the technique, not the logo. How water-based resurfacing works, and how it reaches your skin inside our facial.

If you’ve googled "hydrafacial tallinn", you know the prices are steep and the promises big. Here is what the marketing rarely says: HydraFacial is a brand, not a technique. The technique is water-based resurfacing — the aqua facial — and it is part of our customized facial.
How does an aqua facial work?
The device combines three things: a jet of water with a mild exfoliating solution that softens the surface layer; a vacuum that lifts debris and excess oil out of pores; and a channel that delivers hydrating, calming actives into the skin. The result: cleared pores, a smooth surface and immediate hydrated glow — with no irritation and no downtime.
So what’s the difference between HydraFacial and an aqua facial?
Mainly two things: the device manufacturer and the price. HydraFacial® is a patented US system with its own cartridges and serums; an aqua facial applies the same working principle with other quality devices. Your skin cares about what is done — water, vacuum, actives — not the logo on the machine. The licence fee is always, ultimately, paid by the client.
Who is it for?
- Dull, tired skin that needs a fast refresh — including right before an event.
- Congested pores and blackheads that manual extraction would irritate.
- Dry skin — the treatment exfoliates and hydrates in one pass.
- Sensitive skin that stronger peels don’t suit.
How it works at our studio
With us, the aqua facial isn’t a separate "premium add-on" — it is a standard step of the customized facial: skin analysis, double cleansing, enzymatic exfoliation, ultrasonic work, aqua facial, mask, serum and massage — a whole whose components we choose for your skin. The price is the facial’s price, with no logo surcharge.
Frequently asked questions
Are results visible immediately?
Yes — hydrated glow and a smoother surface show right after the treatment, which is why it’s a favourite before big events.
How long do results last?
The glow typically lasts 1–2 weeks, clear pores longer. Regularity delivers the durable change — the same logic as facials in general.
Does it suit acne-prone skin?
For calm, non-active acne and comedones, yes; for acutely inflamed acne we choose a different approach at the consultation.
For the HydraFacial result without the brand surcharge, book a customized facial — your skin gets the same technique, chosen for its own needs.
